The Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke is
internationally recognized as a leader in research and treatment
of brain tumors. Those diagnosed with brain cancer are
often told that there is very little chance of survival. At
The Brain Tumor Center, Brian was given groundbreaking treatments
by a caring medical staff and, most importantly, was offered hope that
helped sustain him throughout his brave battle with brain cancer. “At
Duke there is Hope.”
Because of everyone’s amazing dedication and generosity,
in the past 4 years Brian’s foundation has been
able to donate over $139,000 to Angels Among Us. In
2006, with a donation of over $70,000.00, we were honored with the “Newcomer of the Year” award (finishing as the 2nd highest fundraiser), and in 2007, we achieved our goal of being a top 5 contributor. In 2008, the foundation once again was among the top 10 fundraising teams, and in 2009, the foundation contributed to Angels Among Us to help raise an amazing $1,410,540 towards brain cancer research.
Money donated has gone towards purchasing crucial and innovative
equipment for diagnosing and treating brain tumors. With
recent cuts in government funding, funds have also used to keep
the best and brightest medical staff at the Brain Tumor Center. For

funds for Angels Among Us see http://www.angelsamongus.org.
